The Origins of Celeris

Celeris was founded in 2009 by craftsman bootmaker Artur Moreira in the village of Pombeiro de Ribavizela, northern Portugal. Rooted in a long-standing tradition of artisanal shoemaking, Artur began crafting boots with dedication and precision, supported closely by his wife, Maria Flor, whose sewing skills gave character to each pair. What started as a family atelier has grown into a brand recognised by riders around the world, while staying true to its origins.

The name Celeris itself carries a deeper symbolism. In classical mythology, Celeris was a winged horse associated with Pegasus — a figure of agility, elegance, and strength. With wings bridging earth and sky, Celeris also represents freedom, transcendence, and aspiration. These qualities have shaped the brand since the beginning, guiding our values, our process, and our designs. More than a name, Celeris is our commitment to rise above the ordinary while remaining faithful to where we began.

A Legacy of Craftsmanship

Celeris was born from a tradition of shoemaking deeply rooted in northern Portugal, where artisanal skill has been passed down through generations. This sense of heritage finds an echo in the nearby Pombeiro Monastery, a National Monument whose history stretches back more than a thousand years.

Just as the Monastery stands as a reminder of enduring tradition, our boots carry forward the knowledge, patience, and dedication that define true craft. In this environment, where family, heritage and innovation come together, Celeris continues to transform expertise into creations that serve riders with authenticity and elegance.

Tradition Meets Innovation

At Celeris, heritage is not about standing still. We preserve time-honoured techniques while embracing design and innovations that enhance the rider’s experience.

Each boot is shaped by this balance, uniting elegance with modern functionality. From the quiet focus of training to the intensity of competition, Celeris boots are crafted to perform with style, comfort and control.

The Art of
Handcrafting

Every Celeris boot is shaped through a meticulous process guided by skilled hands. From the first measurements to the final polish, each stage is carried out with patience and care. Leather is cut, stitched and refined with precision, turning raw material into something both functional and beautiful.

This dedication transforms every pair into more than footwear, into a piece of living craft that reflects the artistry of those who made it.

A Commitment
to Riders

Our story is more than the history of a workshop. It is a promise to the equestrian community, to those who value authenticity, artistry and identity in what they wear. Every pair of Celeris boots is crafted as a personal journey, from artisan to rider, ensuring a connection that is as enduring as the boots themselves.

In staying true to our heritage while looking to the future, we remain committed to creating footwear that unites tradition with the individuality of each rider.
